We are one of two middle level schools in Stratford, Connecticut.
Our 600 seventh and eighth grade students represent a wide range of cultures, abilities and interests. The Flood staff is committed to the middle school concept. We have 5 academic teams where the teachers have common planning time. Our exploratory courses include Band, Chorus, Experiencing Music, Computers, Art, Family and Consumer Science, and Project Lead the Way (Technology Education). We believe that integration of subject matter helps students to make connections between the courses they are taking and the world around them. Bringing the Pillars of Character into all that we do helps our students recognize the importance of being caring, respectful, trustworthy, and responsible world citizens.   Students are at the center of our program, and efforts are continually made to take them from where they are to as far as they can go! Our theme for the 2016-2017 school year is:
"Be Kind!"

Flood is participating in the citizenship program called Make Your Day!

Get ready to save lives!

Flood Middle School Parents and Guardians,

We kicked off our Hoops For Heart program in P.E last week and our schools event is right around the corner! This is a fun and exciting event for our entire school as we work together to raise money for the American Heart Association and save lives!

The American Heart Association's goal is to improve the cardiovascular health of Americans. They will challenge our kids to start living a healthy lifestyle now to prevent problems later; and give them an opportunity to participate in a service learning project that funds the fight against heart diseases and stroke - #1 and #5 cause of death in our country.

Our students will be participating in our Hoops for Heart event during their PE class on February 13th and 14th. Between now and then we are encouraging students to raise money for the American Heart Association. On the day of the event students will participate in many fun basketball activities in their PE class to keep their hearts healthy and we will tally up the donations! Donations such as cash or check may be turned in at any time to their teacher. Online donations can be easily collected by setting up a donations page with your child (see below).

Our school goal is to raise $2,000. We need your help!!!

You can sign up now by following these quick, easy steps to get started raising money and saving lives!

1. Go to or www.heart.org/hoops
2. Choose our state and city.
3. Select our school and join team.
4. Login

Thank you so much for supporting our school and the American Heart Association. You are making a big difference! Thank you for being a Heart Hero!
